story overview
the story take's place two months after Kazuto Kirigaya aka Kirito defeated Kayaba Akihito aka Hearthclift as the last boss of Aincrad in a duel and manage to clear the game and free the imprisoned players, and as he woke up along with the other players they have to enter rehabilitation for not able to use their body in more than two years.
all should end well except that 300 players is still haven't wake up along with those player is Asuna Yuki aka Asuna, while finding the reason for why Asuna is still unconscious Kazuto receive a picture from Andrew Gilbert Mills aka Agil a picture of Asuna being imprisoned in a Cage, the souce of a picture is a Screen shot of a new VRMMO game known as ALFheim online created by RECTO, now Kazuto is now embark on new journey again in the VR world, he must use again his Nerve gear that imprisoned him for years and dive again in the world of ALFheim and rescue his imprisoned beloved princess Asuna
like the first series the new arc scene are mostly in Virtual Reality or VR and some in real life, while the first arc is mostly in VR in this new series Kirito must balance his life in VR and in real life, still and adventure and action is as good in the last arc, what mostly i anticipate in this arc is the offline meeting of the former SAO players and what they look like, and mostly the new world of Alfheim what makes it different from the SAO will if be better or bad, while Aincrad is an original concept of a floating continent with 100 floor Alfheim world is base on Norse Mythology where the center of the world is the Yggdrasil the mythical giant tree in Norse mythology that connect different realms, in game there are different races each races has different specialization.
Cait Sith : In general beast tamers and has improved eyesight. They are recognizable through their cat ears and tails.
Gnome : Largest fairy race and users of the earth.
Imp : Masters of night, great night vision.
Leprechaun : Blacksmith race.
Puca : Users of music which is used to confuse, attack or support.
Salamander : Considered the strongest race in terms of attack, they have superior fire spells, and are styled in red.
Spriggan : masters of illusion and treasure seeking. They are styled in black.
Sylph : considered the fastest race and users of wind, they are denoted by the color green regularly.
Undine : Healers and masters of water. They are styled in blue.
Navigation Pixie : Although not a choice of race, users with a high level can obtain a navigation pixie to lead them from place to place.
and what make it more different in SAO is in Alfheim online players can use different magic base on their race and Flight where players is allow to fly and explore more area and enjoy the gift of flight not available to humans. the new arc also has new heroine and new romantic development, who is she? find it out. still the balance in romance,action, comedy, and fantasy is as good as the last one, i even find this arm more amazing than the last one because the story is arrange much better, due to the reason the first story finish in one volume and having the 2nd volume have it's sidestory. some may don't like this series that much due for their expectation that there will be more story on Asuna, for me that is alright because i'm not an Asuna fan, i'm a fan of Multiple heroine stories. what i don't like don't like in this series? actually there is not i enjoy reading it. SAO is one of my favorite series i hope you enjoy it too.
